This drive along the Ho Chi Minh trail is like you imagined Vietnam to be: rice fields bordered by coconut and banana trees and the almighty jungle! Most of the drive is through mountainous Ethnic lands, until you reach the South China sea coast towards the end of the journey.
Day 1: Drive through coffee plantations and see traditional way of local people to Lak Lake, the biggest (and possible most beautiful) lake in Vietnam. Stop at worm farm and chopstick factory on your way.
Accommodation is in a choice of traditional. Rong house or modern bungalow right on the shore of Lak Lake, so that you enjoy the breathtaking scenery and watch the ethnic minority fishermen checking their nets. Keep in touch with the minority people (M’Nong people) do trekking in the afternoon seeing another village.
Day 2: Visit the local market, you’ll understand more about the culture on exchange the goods. Elephant riding is available. Drive through more picturesque landscape and minority villages to Buon Ma Thuot, where you can sample and buy the best coffee in Vietnam. Go to Draysap waterfalls and Vigrin waterfalls.
Day 3: Visit the center of Buon Ma Thuot and ethnic museum, church. Visit another village of Ede people nice view from the top of phoenix pass (the hottest zone were effected by the agent orange chemical during the war time in Vietnam). Next we can stop in American soldier training station before you enjoy the eggs from the hot spring on the way to Nha Trang in the afternoon.
